Diving
- How many dives can I do per day?
We offer two boat dives per day and approximately 2 night dives
per week. In addition, there are opportunities for diving from shore
on Kandholhu's amazing house reef. On request we also can organize
two-tank-dives.
- How the diving is organised?
We use a typical Maldivian boat, a “dhoni” for diving.
The boat follows the divers during their dive.
- Do I need a wetsuit for diving?
The water temperature in the Maldives ranges between 27 and 30 degrees
Celsius, with the average temperature being 28 degrees. It is fine
to do a few dives without a suit, but if you want to dive often, we
recommend a 3mm shorty. We do not recommend wetsuits over 5mm as they
are very buoyant and you will require too many weights for your dive.
- Do I need a medical certificate for diving?
When you come to the dive school to register, we will ask you to complete
a form. This form includes questions relating to your medical health.
If you suffer from any of the medical conditions mentioned, we will
require a medical certificate stating you are "fit to dive".
In addition if you are 45 or over, we require a medical certificate.
The questionnaire
required for participation in dive courses is even more detailed.
We therefore recommend you bring a medical statement with you if you
plan on doing a course.

House reef
- Are all dives boat dives?
No, we also offer guided dives on the house
reef. Boat trips are charged by the Island Management and depend on
their pricelist.
- Can I dive with my
buddy on the house reef without a guide?
Because there are sometimes strong currents around the house reef,
diving is not always easy there. We offer unguided house reef dives
only to Advanced Divers (or equiv.) with minimum 50 logged dives.

- What other courses do you offer?
please click here
We offer a range of courses from beginner to divemaster courses as
well as specialty-courses from PADI.
For a rescue-course we need at least two participants, divemaster-courses
can be done on request.
- How many days does the Open Water Diver-course
(beginner) take?
The course takes approx. 3 – 4 days.
- I want to do an OWD-course, can I begin
to study at home?
Yes! PADI is a worldwide dive organisation. If you wish to begin reading
for your course at home, you can buy a PADi Open Water Book either
online or from your local dive school. If you want to do more than
reading, some people prefer to do the theory and swimming pool training
at home and then do the Open Water dives here in the warm 29°C
water surrounded by our spectacular marine life. This is called the
referral course.
- Do I have to see a doctor before the course?
We recommend that everybody who wants to do a course has a proper
medical dive-check. Your doctor will issue a “fit for diving”
certificate. If you do not have enough time for this, simply check
this form:
If your answer to all the questions is “no“, you are fine
to dive if you are 45 years old or less. Anyone over 45 years should
bring a "fit for diving" certificate. If you answer “yes”
to even one question, we definitely require a medical statement from
a doctor declaring that you are fit for diving.
